Jewellery Policies

Please note that our hand-made jewellery is subject to different policies than the other products in our online store.

Should you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us before placing an order.

  • MATERIALS

    TARA DALE Jewellery pieces are made from repurposed or fairtrade-accredited metals. We work exclusively with gems and pearls that have been ethically sourced.

    MANUFACTURING PROCESS

    All TARA DALE Jewellery pieces are hand-crafted to order in our Stein am Rhein Studio unless stated otherwise in their individual listings.

    FAULTY ITEMS

    We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchases and get lasting enjoyment out of them. We will gladly repair or replace faulty items free of charge within 2 years of the purchase date.

    Please note that we do not provide free repairs for the following:

    • general wear and tear such as (accidental) bending, twisting or snapping due to harsh treatment, surface oxidisation (discolouration of the metal) or fading/eroding of the plating, broken or torn chains and ripped cord or string, scratched, chipped, cracked or otherwise damaged gemstones/pearls

    If any of the above conditions apply to your piece, you are welcome to contact us for a repair quote. Please follow the instructions below.

    A NOTE ON GOLD PLATING

    Our 18ct Gold plating may fade over time to reveal the Sterling Silver base metal underneath. It is normal for the delicate gold layer to fade eventually and this will always occur depending on the use of and care of the pieces (please see our Care Guide for advice on how to make sure you get the most out of your plated jewellery).

    Should you wish to restore a plated piece to its original lustre, we will gladly do this for you. Please contact us for a plating quote, as each piece will have to be assessed individually.

    GENERAL REPAIRS

    If you wish to request a repair or would like us to re-plate your TARA DALE Jewellery piece, contact us and include your invoice number, a photograph of the damage and your request. Once we have processed your request, we will issue you with a repair number and shipping instructions. Please note that a repair receipt number must be obtained before returning any items. Any items received without a receipt number will not be repaired, re-plated or replaced.

    Repair pieces must be returned in the original packaging or similar to avoid pieces getting crushed or damaged further in transit. Incorrectly packaged pieces that are sent back to us won’t be repaired or replaced.

    Depending on the issue, different time frames will apply to repairs. We will notify you of once your repair has been assessed. 

    Unfortunately, we cannot cover the shipping costs associated with the repair request unless the item was faulty upon delivery.

    For repairs from within Switzerland, we will gladly send your piece back to you at our expense. For international repairs a re-shipping cost of CHF 20.- applies.

    Please note that we cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged packages in transit or any duties or customs taxes that may apply in the country of destination.  

  • RING SIZING

    If you are unsure about your ring size you can order a ring measuring tool here.

    Please follow the instructions on the packaging for an accurate result.

    TARA DALE Jewellery uses the European Ring Size Chart. 

    Should you have any questions or concerns with regards to determining your ring size, please don't hesitate to contact us before placing an order. 

    BRACELET / BANGLE

    Bracelets:
    Dimensions and lengths are always noted in the individual listings. Using a flexible measuring tape or strip of paper/string measure your wrist just below the wrist bone and measure the length with a ruler.  Choose the size closest to your wrist measurement.

    Bangles:
    Dimensions and lengths are always noted in the individual listings. To determine your size bring your thumb and little finger together. Using a strip of paper or string wrap it around the widest point of your hand in that position. Lay the circle over a ruler to determine the inside diameter. Choose the size that is closest but not smaller than your measurement.

    Should you have any questions or concerns with regards to determining your bangle size, please don't hesitate to contact us before placing an order. 

    CARE INSTRUCTIONS

    TARA DALE Jewellery pieces are made entirely from precious metals or precious metals with 18ct Gold Plating. They require diligent care in order to maintain their lustre. They are often very delicate, so careful handling and correct storage will ensure their longevity. 

    We recommend the following: 

    • Always remove your jewellery prior to showering, exercise, sleep or other similar activities. 

    • Avoid exposing your jewellery to soaps, harsh detergents or cleaning products.

    • Avoid immediate contact with cosmetics such as perfumes, lotions or hair products. 

    • Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place, ideally wrapped in fabric or in a box and separate from other pieces so as to avoid any chemical interactions.

    • Silver pieces may tarnish over time. You can use a sliver polishing cloth to restore their sheen.

  •  SHIPPING POLICY

    Please note that this policy is applicable if you are purchasing made-to-order TARA DALE Jewellery*. If you are also ordering other products from our online store, those products will be sent with your jewellery pieces. Should you wish for separate shipments please contact us as additional shipping costs may apply.

    *Ready-to-ship Jewellery pieces will be sent within 2-3 business days.

    Once your payment has been processed, it will take 2-3 weeks before it is dispatched, as each piece of jewellery is made to order unless stated otherwise in the listing.

    Individual shipping times then apply. You will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number.

    Please contact us prior to ordering if you have any questions or concerns regarding production timeframes and delivery. 

    Please note that once your order is shipped, we cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged packages or any duties or customs taxes that may apply in the country of destination. 

    DOMESTIC ORDERS - SWITZERLAND

    • Standard Shipping within Switzerland is free for orders above CHF 100.-

    • For orders under CHF 100.- a flat rate of 9.- is applied.

    • We ship with SWISS PostPac PRIORITY, which offers signature upon delivery within 1-3 business days.   

    • Express Shipping within Switzerland is available upon request at a cost of CHF 15.00.-

    Please contact us if you would like to pick up your jewellery in store.

    EU ORDERS

    A flat rate of CHF 20.- is applied for EU orders .

    EU orders are shipped with Swiss PostPac International Priority. We are unable to guarantee shipping time frames for EU orders however it will usually take between 4-7 business days.

    For Express International Shipping, please contact us to obtain a quote prior to ordering.

    If you need specific information about a delivery time frame please don’t hesitate to contact us.

    RETURNS POLICY

    Please note that for hygienic reasons we cannot accept returns on ear rings or ear pieces under any circumstances. Please choose carefully and don’t hesitate to contact us prior to ordering should you have any questions.

    If you wish to return a piece of jewellery, please contact us and include your receipt number, which item is to be returned, and the reason for the return. 

    We will email you a return number and shipping instructions. 

    Please note that a return number must be obtained before returning any items. We don't accept any returned items that don't have a return/exchange number. 

    We recommend returning items with a courier or reliable postal services that offers tracking and signature upon delivery. We do not accept any responsibility for goods that are lost or damaged in transit.

    Once we receive the item and have evaluated its condition, we will process your exchange/return immediately.

    We do not offer direct exchanges.

    FULL-PRICED ITEMS

    It is very important to us that you are happy with your purchases.

    We accept returns for full priced items (excluding ear rings or ear pieces) within 14 days of delivery if the pieces are returned in their original and undamaged packaging and don't show any signs of wear or tear. 

    The initial shipping cost is non-refundable.

    CUSTOM PIECES & COMISSIONS

    Custom pieces and/or commissions are final sale and not eligible for returns or refunds.

    SALE ITEMS

    Sale items are final Sale and cannot be returned but are eligible for exchange if they are returned in their original and undamaged packaging and don’t show any signs of wear and tear. 

  • We are happy to offer a pick up option for you at check out.

    Once your order is ready for pick up you will receive a confirmation email.
